There is a host of useful information on the Government website that you can find HERE
Thank you to all our guests who have taken the time to let us know how safe and comfortable you feel shopping at Clarks Village.
We continually monitor all our safety measures and the way in which our guests observe social distancing, use the hand sanitisers, wear face coverings in the stores and so on.
With that in mind we have reviewed and decided to relax our one-way system. Our walkways and paths are wide enough to allow two-way 'traffic' but ONLY if, to maintain everyones comfort and safety, all our guests walk around Clarks Village keeping to the LEFT.
Q. Are you making people wear masks? What happens if someone isn’t wearing a mask? I can’t wear a mask. Will you make me?
A. Please see the update (24 Sept) at the top of this news blog for details on face-coverings.
Q. I forgot my mask. What now?
A. A number of our stores sell face-coverings / masks. We would strongly advise you to visit one of those stores on arrival (please check with our Guest Services if you need to identify one).
Q. What measures have been put in place to keep us safe?
A. We have introduced floor markings, posters and banners to assist our guests in keeping 2m socially distant while they’re at Clarks Village. We will monitor guest numbers so that we can maintain social distancing within the centre.
Q. What hygiene measures have been put in place?
A. Our Centre Housekeeping teams will be carrying out extensive scheduled cleaning of Clarks Village with even more focus on key touch points to ensure the safety of our guests. We have also introduced hand sanitising stations at our entrances.
Q. Have your opening times changed?
A.YES. We will be open 9am–6pm Monday to Saturday; and 10am–5pm on Sundays. We will be reintroducing late night shopping (9am - 8pm) on Thursdays from 22 October.
Q. Will there be a limit to how long I can spend in the centre?
A. No limits will be applied to the amount of time you are able to spend in the centre.
Q. How do I get into the centre – has this changed?
A. No routes have changed for you arriving at Clarks Village. When you arrive there will be some changes; access will be restricted if capacity is reached. To assist in our social distancing measures, the following entrances / exits will be OPEN:
The following entrances/exits will be CLOSED:
Q. Will dogs still be welcome?
A. Yes, our gardens are now open so we have space, but please be mindful that you may need to queue to enter some stores so patient and well-behaved dogs will make it enjoyable for all our guests. Thank You.
Q. Any other general advice?
A. As we approach the darker, colder, wetter months we would highly recommend that you are prepared for shopping and potentially queuing, in an outdoor shopping village, so please consider waterproof jackets and brollies.
Q. Will I have to queue to enter Clarks Village?
A. At our busiest times (weekends particularly) in all likelihood, yes. To maintain social distancing measures, we are very mindful that there will be a maximum capacity for guests at Clarks Village. Therefore, you may well need to queue at our open entrances (see earlier question). These entrances will be monitored by the centre facilities team and advice and support given to help you enjoy your visit to Clarks Village.
Q. Can I bring my bike / scooter through the Village?
A. Unfortunately No. To maintain social distancing it is not practicable or safe to wheel a bike or a scooter through Clarks Village. Please leave them locked at the bike racks at our main entrances. Thank You.
Q. Are all the toilets open?
A. The toilet blocks at The Grange and Homeware Pavilion have been open since we reopened the Village. The toilet block at Northside (Next Outlet) will open on 7 August (but due to the very narrow access you must wear face coverings). The toilet block at Farm Road (Cornish Bakery) is temporarily closed for redevelopment & refurbishment and will reopen in late-September.
Q. Are all the disabled toilets open?
A. Disabled toilets will be managed in the same way as our normal toilet blocks (as outlined above).
Q. Will all the baby feeding and changing facilities be open?
A. These facilities are part of our toilet blocks and will be managed in the same way.
Q. Is Guest Services open?
A. Yes, please call them on 07932 154 915.
Q. Will your free shop mobility service be available?
A. Yes it is, but one key criteria is that it has to be booked in advance (at least the day before arriving). Please check out the guidelines and booking form here.
Q. Are your gardens open?
A. Yes - our lawns are now open for our guests to enjoy
Q. Is your adventure play area open?
A. Sorry, no. This is a heavy 'touch point' play area which we don't feel is safe to open at this time. Social distancing is also difficult to maintain for children and parents/guardians. We know families love this feature of Clarks Village and will be disappointed.
If you have questions for a specific store all their contact details are available here.
Q. Are all your stores open?
A. Over 98% are open.
Q. Is cash being accepted at stores or will it be card payment only?
A. Please check with our individual retailers, however, we expect many shops to accept card payment only and you should be prepared to pay by card.
Q. Do I have to queue for each store?
A. Due to restrictions in capacity within the stores, queueing to enter a number of stores is possible. Each store will have designated ‘footprints’ painted on the paving to indicate where guests can wait. Please remember that you will be queuing for stores in an outdoor environment so you may need to be mindful of the weather conditions (heat and rain) and be prepared.
Q. Why is there a one-way system in place?
A. We have relaxed our one-way system but are asking all our guests to walk around Clarks Village by keeping to the left so that everyone can feel comfortable and safe. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Q. I can't stand for long periods – what support is available to me in the centre and in the queue?
A. Selective seating will be available throughout the centre, and all seating will be subject to social distancing guidelines.
Q. Will stores be providing carrier bags or do we need to bring our own?
A. Sustainability is important to us and we therefore recommend that whereever possible you bring your own reusable shopping bags.
Q. Will changing rooms be open / are services within stores still available e.g. feet measuring, bra fitting etc.?
A. Most brands / stores will NOT be opening their changing rooms, but please check with the individual brand when you visit or you can call them in advance (all contact details can be found on the store page).
Q. Will all your cafés be open?
A. All our cafes are now open.
Q. Are your restaurants open?
A. Prezzo, Frankie & Benny's & Pizza Express are open.
Q. Can I still use my Clarks Village Gift Card?
A. Yes. As you’re probably aware, we stopped selling our own gift cards last year, but any that were purchased can still be used. If you are not able to use your card within the normal 12-month deadline, you can extend it by 3 months by calling 0121 268 3210.
